Jennie, this and the first podcast about being bold came at the perfect time. In writing the sequel to my first book, I took the safe route and decided to tell it from the same protagonist pov. I knew that character well, understood her backstory and her arc. But it was falling flat. Felt like I'd rewritten the first book but just moved forward in time. At the midpoint in first draft, I'd done so much already. So I decided to test the first chapters from the pov of the character the book is really about. Immediately, it felt more compelling and interesting. It means starting over from the beginning but I'm already exicted about writing this draft rather than the slog the first first draft was turning into. Thank you!
