Novelmber Day Two in the Books
I did an hour, how about you?
Tl; DR: there’s a new write-along added for Weds below! Edit the Google Sheet! Chat!
Checking in late to say that I managed my hour… several hours later than I intended. Things I did before I wrote:
worked out
ate buttered toast
excessive texting with friends
packed for hockey overnight which is where I am now
shaved all the pills off a sweater with new sweater shaver
Yeah, that’s some procrastinating there at the end. But I got it done! I’m kind of delighted with what I’m doing—I write and noodle and come up with new ideas around the characters and then I write some words and then I drop in some prewriting—this is what would happen next—but then tomorrow I’m not going to pick up in that scene, I’m going to go wherever would be next. Right now it’s a multi-POV small town extravaganza. It could be anything. It’s fun.
And fun is what I needed.
You probably won’t hear from me tomorrow, as I have one additional college essay to edit for a kid, my hour to get in (keeping the goal real), two hockey girls to shepherd around New Haven until their 3 pm game and then a 3 hour ride home.
Upcoming:
Don’t forget to update the Great Google Novelmber Spreadsheet. There’s kind of a chat space there but not really. Oh—after you hit your goal, update your line with the color of the day and add the date. If you’re the first to update you get to pick the color!
Come CHAT in the CHAT. Which maybe didn’t need to be shouted. But I do feel like we have a lot to say and nowhere to say it, although there are also the comments. We’ll just see where people go.
