Hi writers! Today’s episode was supposed to come with a link to a Google Doc containing everything you could POSSIBLY use or do to help me get Playing the Witch Card out into the world. It didn’t. The doc is HERE—and hang onto it if you have a book of your own launching soon, because you should just copy and paste and re-create.
But since fate has forced me into this email (the third in as many days; apologies), I’m just going to go ahead and drop all that info right here. Truly, it’s hard to break a book through the noise right now. If you doubt me, take a look at the latest from Publishing Confidential (which you should 100% be subscribed to) which quotes Jane Friedman’s Hot Sheet (huge ditto, totally worth the $$). I appreciate absolutely anything you’re willing and able to do.

It’s all fun and games until your mother shows up with your ex in the trunk of her car… which is why I cannot wait to read Playing the Witch Card by KJ Dell’Antonia. It’s a warm and witchy book full of hereditary magical chaos and unexpectedly eerie twists–perfect for fall!. https://geni.us/PlayingTheWitchCard (53 words)
Everything you need to suggest that your library system purchase Playing the Witch Card.
Suggested text for an addition to your weekly email, if you have one. Cover images and the flap copy are all way down there too!

Caption idea: Here’s my first pic for a fun read this fall: Playing the Witch Card from @kjda! Why? Because it’s all fun and games until your mom shows up with your ex in the trunk of her car… Think Gilmore Girls meets Practical Magic or Elin Hildebrandt but make it witches, and think rogue Tarot deck in a small town full of family secrets, bound and determined that the truth will out no matter how many recalcitrant teens, unpredictable mothers or dueling exes get in the way. #bookstagram #fallvibes #playingthewitchcard #witchybooks
Or here’s the book image to pop into anything of your own…

TikTok–just click the link to download a short TikTok, and upload it to your TT. I suggest either Out of the Woods or Season of the Witch for music, and know that if you hit “add link” then “book” and search Playing the Witch Card, you can add it.
